Yesterday Asif Ali (A Facbook friend) asked me about "Animated Facebook Status" I was like "What animated". He then showed me profile of Da Hash (another Facebook Friend) and I was surprised to see the Animated Images on the Wall of the mentioned users. Now it came to me as a surprise I thought only hidden thing was the Facebook Chat Emoticons but I Guess that wasnt the case.
On first glance I thought it was some application but it wasn't ... If we see at the Source you will find that the images are hosted at
. This confirms that the images are pulled off from Facebook Own servers and not some 3rd Pary App.
What are these Facebook Emoticons in Status/Comments ?
After I first came to know about this I did a little of Research (where? Google ofcourse) and came to know that its nothing new there are many Apps and Pages utilizing such kind of Stuff already. Put it never got kind of out in Public. Its like In many places and distorted (My Aim here is to allow anyone and everyone to use this without the need of apps branding ) we can see pages like
This and various apps.If you do a Google search of
Animated Facebook Status you will find dozens of such apps which perform the same task ...

In this Image you can see someone has even utilized Images in Comments .. and if we see the source (using firebug) we can see that the images are indeed hosted on facebook servers not called in from by any third party app..
I bit of more digging and I found out that these images are called Emoji Emotions , they are used in Japan after contacting Michael his reply was
I have been asked this before aswell, will let you know.I am using what we call in Japan/Hong Kong emoji emotions. These are Unicode characters that represent pictures and are often sent on mobile carriers. am using an application called "Emoji Free" for iphone that translates these characters to images.
Apparently these are respected on facebook (or at least some of them are). Then all of a sudden I also noted that only those posts have images which are posted through Mobile OR pretended to be .. So I had to get Emoji Free in my Mobile ..I tried the Emoji Codec of Android but that didnt Help me. Actually Android doesn't support Emoji Font natively and my device is unfortunately not rooted at the moment.
So now the Last Part To Pretend that we using a mobile device and Send Emoji ... for that we need List of Emoji Unicode character and relevant images. Searched here and there and got some from sites like these. And its very easy to post from a computer and pretend that post was made using the Mobile version ... so I am setting up a Page which will make us do that ...
You need not to Allow any App for this .. Just Visit the Emoji Writer Page and Update your Status with Emoticons.
